About Me

Professional Journey—Editor to Educator to ID
I began my career as an editor and writer, with my last position in this role at a marketing firm. There, I not only developed proficiency with layout software, but also honed my eye for graphic design details.

My second career was in teaching. I've instructed students as young as five in kindergarten classrooms, teenagers in a foreign country, and adults in corporate training settings.

Both fields provided a solid foundation in the skills needed for a career in instructional design and eLearning development: a deep understanding of teaching and learning, experience designing lessons and developing supporting instructional materials, practice collaborating with in-house creatives and outside stakeholders, familiarity with presentation and design software, and excellent communication skills.

Recent Training
I'm currently enrolled in the IDOL Courses Academy, a trade school for corporate instructional design and online learning. There, I've learned about conducting needs analyses; scripting, storyboarding, and developing online learning; and principles of adult learning—among many other topics related to instructional design.

In addition, I've completed the following LinkedIn Learning courses:

  • Instructional Design: Adult Learners

  • Articulate Storyline Essential Training

  • Instructional Design Essentials: Models of ID

  • Agile Instructional Design
